Specsavers raises funds for the FDT Brothers at Kingfisher

Monday 26 October to Saturday 31 October 2026

Specsavers at Kingfisher is supporting local brothers Jordan and Cian Adams and their mission to make dementia visible, with a week of fundraising activities taking place in store from Monday 26 October to Saturday 31 October.

The Redditch brothers have captured hearts with their incredible efforts to raise awareness of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a form of dementia that can affect people at a younger age. Following the loss of their mum to early-onset FTD, both brothers have also discovered that they carry genetic markers associated with the condition and have been told they may develop it themselves.

Determined to make a difference, Jordan and Cian have dedicated themselves to raising awareness and funds for the charity they established. Their extraordinary fundraising challenges have included running 26-mile marathons daily and taking on the London Marathon with a full-sized fridge strapped to one of their backs.

Now, the Specsavers team at Kingfisher is getting involved to help support their mission.

How you can get involved

Throughout fundraising week, the Specsavers team will be walking and running 26 miles on a treadmill in store, with the aim of covering even more distance together.

Visitors can support the fundraising effort through a range of activities, including:

  • Donations: The team will be inviting customers to make small donations towards the cause when visiting for repairs and adjustments.

  • Raffle and tombola: Try your luck while helping raise money for a meaningful cause.

  • Lucky dip: A little surprise for children and the young at heart!

  • Bake sale: Pop into Specsavers from Thursday 29 October to Saturday 31 October to enjoy a homemade treat and support the fundraiser.

The team will also be displaying information and materials supplied by the FDT Brothers to help spread awareness of their work.

Help make dementia visible

Every donation, raffle ticket and cake purchased will help Specsavers at Kingfisher support Jordan and Cian's fundraising efforts and raise awareness of frontotemporal dementia.

Next time you're visiting Kingfisher, pop into Specsavers, find out more about the brothers' inspiring mission and see how you can get involved.

Together, we can help make dementia visible.
