New Public Artwork Coming to Kingfisher
Summer 2026
A vibrant new piece of public art called 'Machine Dreams & Sun Beams' is coming to Kingfisher this summer, transforming the upper level near Vue Cinema and Car Park 1 into a colourful celebration of Redditch's heritage, creativity and natural environment.
Created by artist Alec Saunders, the installation forms part of the Midlands Mosaics project, delivered in partnership with the University of Birmingham, Reimagine Redditch, Arts in Redditch and Kingfisher.
Inspired by Redditch's history, people, wildlife and iconic Eduardo Paolozzi mosaics in Milward Square, the artwork reimagines the town through a contemporary lens, creating a striking new landmark for visitors to enjoy.
The project celebrates Redditch's rich cultural heritage while showcasing the creativity and character that make the town unique. Whether you're visiting to shop, dine or enjoy a day out, be sure to stop by and experience this exciting new addition to Kingfisher.
