Arts in Redditch Pop-Up Galleries Celebrates 10 Years

14th - 26th May

Arts in Redditch celebrates a significant milestone this month, when it marks 10 years since its first Pop-Up Gallery in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

Launched in May 2014 as a showcase for local artists to exhibit and sell their work, the galleries made use of vacant retail premises offered by then General Manager Ken Williams, who embraced the opportunity to introduce new activity in the centre.

The idea was the brainchild of Malcolm Hall, past Chairman of Arts in Redditch, supported by Philip Roberts, current Secretary & Trustee of the organisation, which became a registered charity in 2016.

Since its launch back in 2014, over 200 local artists have participated and over 30,000 people have visited the Pop-Up Galleries These events are organised & run entirely by volunteers, principally the artists themselves, who have devoted thousands of hours to setting up and curating the exhibitions.
