We are pleased to confirm our non-essential shops are able to reopen following the easing of government restrictions from the 15th June. A list of these stores can be found by clicking here. Our cinema, gym and eat-in restaurants will remain closed until restrictions on Leisure businesses are eased further.

We have undertaken extensive planning and consultation with the retail sector authorities, retailers and service providers to ensure the health and wellbeing of its guests and staff. A number of measures have been introduced within the centre to support good hygiene practice and social distancing.

Access to the centre will be closely monitored using the centre's existing footfall counting technology. Visitor volume will be managed to maintain sufficient open areas for visitors to meet social distancing requirements and to protect themselves, occupiers and staff. If the amount of visitors rise to a level that may prevent social distancing, access to the centre will be controlled with numbers able to access being balanced with numbers leaving. People will be advised on the best times to visit the centre with updates made available on our website and social media channels.

Ken Williams, centre manager, said: "Kingfisher has stayed open for essential stores since lockdown was implemented and provided free parking throughout the period for visitors and essential store staff. During this time, we have been carefully managing the flow of people through our centre. As more retailers reopen, we want to ensure visitors to Kingfisher feel safe and comfortable.

"We have taken a number of precautionary measures within the centre which includes enhanced deep cleaning and building ventilation, as well as making PPE available for all our employees. To encourage social distancing, arrows and signage will be in place throughout the centre with limited numbers of people able to access toilet facilities, stairs, lifts and escalators. We very much look forward to welcoming our retailers and community back to our centre".

Visitors should expect changes in the access to and movement through the centre and when inside the individual businesses. Visitors will be expected to adhere to government guidance on social distancing and the measures put in place to safeguard themselves, and others.

Whilst there continues to be a risk of transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19) visitors are asked:

  • Not to enter the centre if you are experiencing any of the COVID19 symptoms.
  • Maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from all other members of the public.
  • Strictly observe the centre's social distancing measures as instructed by staff and stores.

For more information on the latest measures, as well as details on accessibility and advice on shopping at the centre, keep up-to-date on our website and social media channels.
