What is World Book Day? 

World Book Day is the world's biggest annual celebration of children's books, dedicated to celebrating the benefits of reading by anyone and anywhere in the world. The annual event aims to inspire new reading habits for adults and children as sharing stories has long lasting effects on a child's future!

Celebrate World Book Day with us!

World Book Day is fast approaching and we're inviting our guests to join us from Thursday 5th until Sunday 8th March! Activities across the days will include; exciting and engaging story-telling sessions, fancy dress competition, colouring in competition, visits from our Kids Club mascot Charlie the monkey & more in our super cosy reading area located in Milward Square opposite The Range.

Thursday 5th & Friday 6th March (event times: 11am - 3pm)

  • A Storyteller will be on-site between 11am and 1pm sharing and telling the story with a range of child-hood classics - she also has a magic coat too...!
  • Meet & Greet sessions with our mascot Charlie the monkey (Thursday only)
  • Colouring in station where children can enter a colouring competition and colour in their own bookmarks to take home with them

Saturday 7th March (event times: 10.30am-3.30pm)

  • The Storyteller returns and sessions will run between 10.30am - 3.30pm throughout the day
  • There will also be a Signer on site between 11am-3pm to interpret all stories told by the storyteller
  • Quiet Hour will run from 10.30am-11.30am for guests who prefer a quieter environment. Our mall music will also be switched off in this area during that time
  • Fancy dress competition between 1.30pm - 2pm with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (Children will be encouraged to dress up in their favourite characters)
  • Meet & Greets with our mascot Charlie the monkey 
  • Colouring in station where children can enter a colouring competition and colour in their own bookmarks to take home with them

Sunday 8th March (10.30am-4.30pm)

  • The cosy corner will be open for guests to take a seat, pick up a book and colour in too!

Book Donation Station 

If you have any unwanted books, you can drop these off to our donation station at Guest Services!
